Continuous Integration, Continuous Agitation
Agile software practices have put a new emphasis on code quality and moved the responsibility for that quality onto the laps of developers. In this talk we will cover the role of developer testing in an agile development shop using the real work experiences of the Agitar development team who love, live and breathe software quality! Come prepared to learn about continuous integration with CruiseControl (the defacto standard continuous integration tool), the purpose of extreme feedback monitors (yes, including lava lamps), Managed Developer Testing, and Continuous Agitation.
Our Speaker, Jeffrey Fredrick, is a 13-year veteran of the software industry with a mission to change the way software is created. A founding member of the JBuilder development team, he has been involved in Java tool development since before the 1.0 release of the Java platform. As co-founder and VP of Engineering at OpenAvenue he led the development of the first web-based collaborative development platform. Immediately prior to joining Agitar he was a partner in a consulting company specialising in the adoption of Agile development practices. Jeffrey is an experienced speaker and trainer on a variety of technical and business topics. His conference speaking experience includes the 2005 Gartner Application Development Summit. He is currently indulging his passion for tools as Director of Engineer at Agitar Software and as a committer on CruiseControl, the defacto standard continuous integration tool. Jeffrey's weblog is available at developertesting.com.
